First Visit: What to Expect

Posted on by

Our primary concern is determining whether you are in the right place to receive the right care for your condition. Your examination and history may show a need for another specialist and we will refer you there. As licensed doctors, we are trained to diagnose your condition.  We consider your well-being to be our top priority.

What does our physical examination include?

Next, a physical examination (clothed) which includes:

  • Vital signs (blood pressure, pulse)

  • Orthopedic Testing: determining the structural nature of your condition

  • Neurological Testing: determining the degree of nervous system involvement

  • Chiropractic Exam: procedures that determine the nature of misalignments or distortions in your joints and soft tissues (muscles and connective tissues).

Once the evaluation is completed and we are assured it is safe and proper to treat you, we will address your symptoms through chiropractic adjusting (alignment) of your involved joints and muscle therapy (therapeutic massage).

What recommendations are included in your future treatment plan?

Your future treatment plan at Levin and Chellen Chiropractic may include recommendations and instructions regarding posture, workstation alteration, nutritional considerations, and strengthening and stretching exercises. Additionally, it's important to note that in most cases, we do not order X-rays as our methods do not require them, but we will discuss any need for X-rays or an MRI if related to traumas or unusual health findings.

If it is determined safe and proper to treat you, initial chiropractic adjusting and muscle therapy will be provided.

2 Will I receive treatment on my first visit?

Yes, if the evaluation determines it is safe and proper to treat you, you will receive initial treatment during your first visit. This typically includes chiropractic adjusting of involved joints and muscle therapy to address your symptoms.
